Club Matches – A New Frontier?

Since January when our online Clubhouse was formed on Chess.com, visibly seen as , we have received and accepted our very first club vs. club match.

The invitation came from The Film and TV Buffs club on Chess.com. This is a new frontier for our relatively new club Casual Chess Club – Las Vegas on Chess.com; and it is breaking the ground for future club matches.

This first match was established by The Film and TV Buffs to recognize the passing of Las Vegas casino legend Trini Lopez.

Equaliser769 from The Film and TV Buffs wrote:
“Sadly Trini Lopez died on Monday after complications from Covid-19. He was 83. Born in Dallas, Texas his family later moved to Los Angeles where he played the music scene and was discovered by Frank Sinatra. He acted in films such as The Dirty Dozen, but it is as a musician he will be remembered – he wrote and sang to hit level If I Had a Hammer – and he has been inducted into the Las Vegas Casino Legends Hall of Fame. He lived for the last 60 years of his life in Palm Springs.”

The match is being organized by club administrators westerlywolf on behalf of our club Casual Chess Club – Las Vegas and Equaliser769 on behalf of The Film and TV Buffs on Chess.com.
