Dunn won by his opponent’s resignation, Ed Magik stepped up as a substitute to continue playing the game from the board position just before the other player moved and resigned. The other player had made a move with Nd5, which left him vulnerable to a surprise attack. Ed Magik revived the game by choosing to move Qf2, and the game continued from that point forward.
