In my search to find reasonably good content to display on our website, I came across videos from Gotham Chess on YouTube.com. In my opinion, below is a video worthy of being shared for chess beginners.

Not sure if this offers value above and beyond the introductory lessons on chess.com which are very good btw. Of course it can’t hurt to view both. It is worth mentioning that not all of Gotham’s content is family friendly, but I’m sure he’s toned it down for this particular video given the target audience. I am a regular viewer of the Gotham channel and although the entertainment has kept me coming back strictly from a quality perspective there are many errors in the chess coverage, the kind that should not be made by an IM. But I understand the pressures felt by a chess pro such as needing to keep content flowing in a monetized channel. On balance I can recommend the Gotham channel to adults, but parents concerned with what their kids are watching should vet the channel appropriately.
